Constructor Hackathon 2025
November 21 – 26, 2025
at 17:00
Constructor Knowledge Labs and Constructor Tech invite you to take part in Constructor Hackathon 2025 – an event where ideas are tested, disciplines meet, and technology becomes a tool for real discovery.
Over several days, participants will work in teams to design intelligent systems, create new learning formats, and push AI beyond conventional use cases, together with our experts, lead by Prof. Alexander Tormasov, creator of the very first virtual machines for Mac (Parallels), Prof. Andrey Ustyuzhanin, one of the most renown researcher in Artificial Intelligence worldwide, Prof. Giancarlo Succi, Dean of the School of Computer Science and Engineering.
- Kickoff Session: 21 November, 17:00–18:00 CET (Hybrid)
- Teamwork: 22–23 November (Online)
- Winner Announcement: 26 November, 18:00–18:45 CET (Hybrid)
You’ll start with a hybrid kickoff session to form connections, clarify goals, and receive initial guidance from our experts. The main hackathon work will continue online, giving teams the flexibility to collaborate remotely and refine their solutions before the final presentations.
- Applied AI: Practical, impactful uses of AI in real-world settings.
- Knowledge Processing: Building systems that can understand, connect, and reason with information.
- Course Creation: Designing a short, generative-AI–powered course for any school subject, demonstrating how technology can support new ways of teaching and learning.
Participants are expected to have solid Python skills, basic knowledge of statistics, and familiarity with R or data analysis frameworks. A good understanding of applied AI concepts will be a plus. These competencies form the basis for effective participation across the hackathon’s main themes, including intelligent system engineering, generative educational design, and computational knowledge processing.
Each team should include 2–3 participants. We encourage you to form teams in advance, bringing together complementary skills and perspectives. However, if you’re joining individually, we’ll assist you in finding a team during the kickoff session.
Each team should ensure that at least one member brings a laptop for the first day. Since most of the project work will take place online afterward, there’s no need to bring extra equipment, snacks, or water. Just make sure you’re ready to collaborate digitally and have the software tools you plan to use for development installed.
All participants will receive official certificates of participation and Constructor-branded merchandise as recognition of their contribution and effort.
Selected winners will be invited to join the research teams of our Principal Investigators for a paid internship, gaining access to advanced research environments, mentorship from leading experts, and the opportunity to contribute to real ongoing projects within Constructor Tech and Knowledge Labs, as well as to co-author scientific papers for publication in prestigious venues – an experience that can play a crucial role in future career development.
This hackathon is a chance to see how far your thinking can go when ideas meet the right tools and people.
Good luck to all the participants, and stay tuned for the Winner Announcement on the 26th of November, 18:00-18:45 CET!
Further details, including the specific challenge topics and the exact venue for the kickoff session, will be shared soon. If you have any questions before or during the hackathon, please contact us at StudentLabs@constructor.org.
We can’t wait to see what you’ll build next!
