Constructor University offers rolling admission for research-oriented PhD programs. As there are no course requirements for individual PhD degrees prospective students can apply throughout the year for admission.
A prerequisite for the application to an individual research-oriented PhD program is an acceptance letter by a Constructor University faculty member. You can find a list of faculty members here: Faculty | Constructor University
Faculty members may be approached individually by email. Please include a research proposal (1-2 pages) as well as your master thesis in the communication.
In general, Constructor University does not offer financial support for PhD students. It is recommended to search for financial support before applying to an individual PhD degree, e.g. via the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). Documents required for application:
- Proof of Identity: Provide a government-issued national ID or passport for EU and non-EU citizens.
- University Transcripts: Submit your most updated transcripts or official mark sheets of completed semesters. Include explanations of grading systems if applicable.
- CV: Please prepare an updated CV that includes your academic, professional/work experience*, extracurricular, and voluntary activities. • Proof of English Language Proficiency: Please be prepared to submit an official test result upon demand.
- Research Proposal: Write a 1-2-page research proposal summarizing your research interests including a short proposal for a PhD topic.. • Recommendation Letter: Please be prepared to submit up to two recommendation letters upon demand.
- Degree Certificate: Submit your degree certificate/provisional degree confirmation (if you have not graduated yet) or your diploma supplement.
