On Saturday, May 25th, Jacobs University hosted its annual Open House! Several hundred visitors from Bremen-Nord to Japan and everywhere in between came out for the afternoon to discover what Jacobs University has to offer. The university offered a diverse set of activities for visitors of all ages: face-painting and a bouncy castle for kids, academic workshops for adults, and, of course, barbecue and ice cream for everyone to enjoy!
Throughout the day, visitors could choose to attend various pre-planned workshops, ranging from a seminar about students’ options after finishing high school to a Masterclass in Psychology, or even a seminar about the science behind making chocolate! Several interactive tours also took place, giving guests the option to learn more about studying at Jacobs, research occurring in a handful of our many labs, campus life, or a bit of the history and culture behind the university, all while walking around our beautiful campus.
The entire Jacobs community came together to contribute to the Open House. Staff members elaborated on our academic offerings, community members gave information about becoming a host family for a Jacobs student, and Jacobs students themselves gave tours, sang in the choir, displayed their artwork, and more. Because of this, our campus visitors truly caught a glimpse of the wonderful community that makes up Jacobs University!
If you didn’t get a chance to attend this year, we encourage you to be on the look-out for next year’s program, so you too can experience everything that Jacobs University has to offer!
