Every year in the summer we receive highly skilled visitors for our admission days, “Zulassungstage”, at Jacobs University. We all know about the unexpected changes and difficulties this year brought to all of us. We are even more happy to have been able to welcome our applicants despite the current world situation.
Application and admission - on the same day!
From July 4th until August 20th the admission days took place at our campus once again. Due to a good organization and safety regulations we fortunately didn’t have to go without them this summer. And again, the event had been successful: we had interviews with over 60 motivated prospects from all over Germany!
It’s the great opportunity to get from applying to our university to getting the admission decision in a time span of just a few hours! The applicants get a personal interview, a tour around our campus and afterwards already receive their admission decision.
The only difference this summer was, that there was also the opportunity for an online interview. This way the applicants had the possibility to profit from the much easier application system, even if they preferred to stay home.
The advantages of our admission days
The biggest advantage of our admission days is definitely the much easier admittance procedure: you don’t need to bring a recommendation or motivation letter. Your personal interview will show if you have sufficient English skills to study at Jacobs - therefore you also don’t need to take an English Language Proficiency Test beforehand.
Fortunately, there is also the possibility to bring your parents. Of course they will also get the opportunity to talk to our professors and staff and get answered all of the questions they might have.
Additionally, you get to see our beautiful campus in real-life and get an insight into everything that awaits you if you make the decision to study at our inspiring international university. We don’t only get the chance to meet you, but you also get to know the university and its members and get a great insight into our lively campus life. It just represents a way more personal process of applying.
But there’s more: Not only do you get to know on the same day if you are admitted; you also get to know if you would receive a scholarship. Furthermore, you can inform yourself about all the other financing aid options we offer.
That’s obviously a lot of new information and excitement in just one day. But don’t worry: getting accepted does not mean that you have to decide on the spot if you want to study here.
