BMW Casual Machine Learning Hackathon
What started as a simple conversation with Constructor University alum Ishansh Gupta from BMW Group turned into a dynamic collaboration that brought together students, alumni, and industry experts for an inspiring three-day hackathon.
34 teams participated, presenting 21 innovative solutions. There were 220 signups and 101 check-ins, with 34 teams onsite and 21 final project submissions. 7 standout teams (3 winners + 4 shortlisted) received personalized recommendation letters from BMW. The awards ceremony on December 2 was moderated by Ilya Kompasov, and the BMW team : Ishansh Gupta, Louis Heublein, and Nataliia Kholodna presented the results and celebrated the winners.
Winning Team
Aleksandr Kovrigin, Kseniia Lysaniuk, Valerii Ovchinnikov, and Egor Shibaev secured the top prize, earning a direct interview with BMW and skipping the technical screening phase. All shortlisted teams received personalized letters of recommendation, with the top three teams awarded exclusive BMW merchandise.
