Homecoming 2026: 25 Years of Excellence | Milestones in Motion
Somehow, We Always Find Our Way Back
Back to the people who knew us then. Back to the places that shaped us. Back to familiar faces, old stories, unexpected reunions and the feeling that, even after years apart, some connections never really change.
The Alumni Office welcomed its alumni community back to campus for Homecoming 2026: Milestones in Motion, bringing together generations of alumni, students, faculty, staff, friends and guests to celebrate 25 years of excellence and to look ahead at everything still in motion.
For three days, campus became a meeting point between past, present and future.

Friday: Back on Campus
The weekend began with alumni returning to campus throughout Friday, revisiting familiar places and discovering everything that had changed since their student days.
Across campus, alumni joined open lectures, rest and chat in the Alumni Lounge, and reconnected over the traditional German afternoon combination of Kaffee und Kuchen. Yearbooks added another layer of nostalgia, with alumni signing next to their old photographs and leaving their mark for future generations to find.
Campus tours offered another chance to see familiar surroundings through new eyes.
The afternoon brought alumni and students together for Alumni Awards and Wisdom Across the Eras, celebrating achievements and exchanging experiences across generations of the Constructor community.
Discover the 2026 Alumni Award winners and their stories
Following the awards, 50 alumni and 112 students took part in Wisdom Across the Eras, an opportunity for current students and alumni to exchange experiences, ideas and career perspectives. Saskia Zwilling | LinkedIn (BSc 2021) opened the session with a fun icebreaker that quickly brought students and alumni together, setting a relaxed tone for the conversations that followed. Rather than being a one-way conversation, the format encouraged both generations to learn from each other, from alumni sharing lessons from their careers to students bringing fresh perspectives from today’s university experience.
Dinner followed, setting the stage for one of Friday night's most anticipated moments.
Jet Lag: A Reunion More Than 20 Years in the Making
Friday evening brought a special Homecoming reunion to the stage as Jet Lag, the first rock band formed on campus, reunited for a live performance more than 20 years after they started making music at Constructor.
The band brought together six alumni from different graduating classes, now living across Germany, Romania, Canada, Denmark and Norway. Bringing a piece of Constructor's musical history back to where it all began.
Want to know how Jet Lag started, who the band members are, and what brought them back together after more than two decades?
25 Years, One Community
Saturday brought the wider Constructor community together.
The day began with the Beyond the Pond Breakfast, followed by the 25th Anniversary Alumni Discussion, a conversation looking at where Constructor University has come from and what the next 25 years could look like. The discussion was opened by Chief Constructor Dr. Serg Bell and hosted by Alumni Association President, Judith Michels (2005). Five perspectives then came together around one central question: how can the university build on 25 years of experience, impact and community to shape what comes next?

Outside, Open Campus brought even more energy to the university. Alumni explored today's campus through student activities, open labs, sports and the student fair, while food trucks across campus kept everyone fuelled throughout the afternoon.
Alumni Path: Leaving a Mark, Bricks
The upgraded Alumni Brick Path was one of the highlights of this year’s Alumni Homecoming, with new signs introducing the alumni community and the latest bricks added to the path. Alumni and friends are eligible for a brick once they have lifetime donations of €1000 or more to the Alumni Association or the Constructor University Foundation of America.
The new Beyond the Pond Alumni Association identity brings together alumni from IUB, Jacobs University and Constructor University, reflecting the different chapters and generations of our alumni community.

Alumni gathered for the traditional Homecoming group photo, bringing reunion classes and generations of the community into one frame.
The afternoon continued with an exclusive exhibition tour and some friendly competition on the football fields, where students, staff and alumni came together for a special football match.
An Evening to Remember
As the sun went down, the weekend shifted into celebration mode. The celebration of 25 years of Constructor University, its milestones, its community and the people who have helped shape its story and the evening ended with a fireworks show.
The Alumni Gala Dinner brought the alumni community together to honour the newest Alumni Scholarship recipients and support the future of the university through the Alumni Scholarship Fund.

Homecoming 2026 was more than a reunion.
Because sometimes, no matter how far we travel or how much time passes, we find our way back.
Back to the people.
Back to the place.
Back to the feeling of being part of something bigger than us.
Here’s to 25 years and to all the milestones still in motion.
Constructor University welcomed back around 120 alumni and guests for three days of reconnection, memories, and celebration under the motto “Undo the Adulthood.”
