About This Conversation

Looking back, moving forward: building on 25 years of evolution, impact and community.

The 25th anniversary is an opportunity to recognize how Constructor University has evolved over 25 years, both through a critical lens and by celebrating the shared foundations that make us Constructors. This special conversation aims to explore how can we build on the university’s founding principles, experiences and impact to shape the next 25 years.

Join us for an engaging, personal and forward-looking conversation: the past provides the foundation, and the focus is on what it enables the community to build next.

Serg Bell will be the keynote speaker to open up the Alumni discussion.

Five Perspectives, One Conversation

Five people connected to Constructor in different ways trace a single journey — from where the university began to where it could go.

  • Prof. Dr. Klaudia Brix – Academic Foundation
A member of the Constructor community since the university’s early years, Klaudia Brix has witnessed its evolution from IUB to Jacobs University and now Constructor University. As Professor of Cell Biology, she brings a first-hand perspective on the university’s academic culture, its development and the principles that have shaped generations of students.
  • Dr. Abdu Mudesir – Alumni Impact
A member of Constructor’s pioneering student generation, Abdu Mudesir represents the university’s impact beyond the campus — through careers, leadership, innovation and international networks. His participation also brings a unique generational perspective: his son is now studying at Constructor, becoming the first child of a Constructor alumnus to join the university as a student.
  • Ilya Shimchik – Ecosystem & Technology Transfer
Team Principal of Constructor Racing and Principal Investigator at Constructor Labs, providing a concrete example of how research, students, technology, industry partnerships and real-world applications can come together within the broader Constructor ecosystem.
  • Prof. Mete Atatüre – External Perspective
A leading quantum physicist and Head of Department and Professor of Physics at the University of Cambridge, Mete Atatüre brings a perspective that extends well beyond Constructor. As a long-standing strategic advisor to Constructor Group, he has also been closely involved in developing and challenging the Constructor vision over the past five-plus years.
  • Prof. Sir Konstantin “Kostya” Novoselov – Future
Nobel Prize-winning physicist and President of Constructor University, Kostya Novoselov represents the university’s next chapter. His perspective connects Constructor’s experience and ambitions with the question of what a university can become in a rapidly changing scientific, technological and educational landscape.
