What attracted you to Jacobs out of all the other possibilities you were considering?
First of all, location. Europe had always been an attractive yet mysterious place to me. I was definitely intrigued by the idea of studying and spending a few years in Germany, and the school facilities were really modern and much better than most colleges out there.
Second, it was the fact that it’s an international university, I was drawn to the idea of meeting different people and being embraced in a multi-cultural atmosphere (truth is it was even better than I had ever imagined!).
Last but not least, it was the financial support Jacobs offered. It showed that it’s a place that actually welcomed and valued talents despite their financial situation.
What did Jacobs do for you that you were not expecting?
I think Jacobs fundamentally changed me in a way by giving me this international experience. Never in my life had I ever imagined that I would have met such a diverse group of really cool people and developed life-long friendships with them! The fact that we were able to connect and understand each other despite differences in our cultural backgrounds was simply amazing.
Jacobs is a place of wonder. People live in harmony here despite conflicts between their countries or religions. It was not only global mindset that I acquired here; more importantly, it was this hope that one day, world peace can be realized.
