The exhibitors all agreed: the visit was worth it. “We were at the career fair for the first time and met very well-prepared, above-average qualified students,” says Patrick Tomschitz, Head of Personnel Marketing at Porsche AG. “We were particularly impressed by the international spirit.”

The automobile manufacturer was one of around 40 companies, research institutes and non-governmental organizations that presented themselves at the career fair in search of young management talent. “The students know what they can do and what they want,” says Loai Fandi, Global Innovation Manager at Dräger, the world's leading manufacturer of medical devices. “I'd love to see one or two of them with us.”
Well over 1,000 visitors, including many students from other universities in Bremen, took the opportunity to establish contacts with potential employers. The fair’s supporting program, which the Bremen Chamber of Commerce - CCI for Bremen and Bremerhaven had once again sponsored, included additional company presentations and workshops for students on career-related questions.
Jacobs alumni were also sought-after contacts, presenting their own start-ups and sharing their experiences. “We are very pleased that the Career Fair has developed into such a popular networking platform for exhibitors, students and numerous alumni,” says Predrag Tapavicki, Head of Corporate Relations & Talent Management at Jacobs University, who organized the fair together with his team.

Eva-Maria Lobentanz Senior Human Relations Expert Strategic Programs at Roche, also took a positive view. “We had very good conversations.” Together with Jacobs University, the pharmaceutical company has launched a fellowship program in the field of Data Science & Computational Life Science, taking advantage of the opportunity to look at potential candidates. “Jacobs University is very important to us, we employ several graduates,” says Tim Streitbürger, area manager of the ABinBev brewery. “Quite simply, good people are educated here.”
