For her outstanding academic achievements in chemistry, Amna Rubab has been awarded the prestigious Hofmann Scholarship of the German Chemical Society (GDCh).

The August Wilhelm von Hofmann Foundation will fund her studies in the amount of €300 per month. Amna studies Chemistry in her second year, and was put forward to the GDCh as a Hofmann Scholarship candidate by Ulrich Kortz, Professor of Chemistry at Jacobs University Bremen, in whose laboratory she undertakes inorganic/materials chemistry research. The 18 year old, born in Pakistan, is President of the Jacobs Chemistry Student Society. “Amna has completed all chemistry courses in an outstanding fashion. She is the year's best among chemistry students and is a role model for all other students considering her academic performance and extracurricular activities”, says Prof. Kortz.

The GDCh promotes chemistry in education, research, and application, and seeks to deepen the general public’s understanding and knowledge of chemistry and its relevance to the world.
