Constructor University Achieves System Accreditation, Marking a Major Milestone in Academic Excellence
Constructor University has been awarded system accreditation by Stiftung Akkreditierungsrat (the German Accreditation Council), a prestigious quality assurance certification that recognizes the excellence of the university's teaching, learning, degree programs, and internal quality management system. The decision confirms that Constructor University has successfully demonstrated that its quality assurance processes reliably ensure the highest academic standards across the institution.
System accreditation is one of the highest forms of institutional quality recognition in German and European higher education. Rather than evaluating individual degree programs, it assesses the university’s entire quality management system and confirms that it independently safeguards and continuously enhances the quality of its academic offerings. As a result, Constructor University is now authorized to design, approve, modify, and reaccredit its degree programs through its own internal quality assurance processes, further strengthening institutional autonomy and academic agility.
“The achievement is particularly significant as only around one-third of Germany’s state-recognized universities hold system accreditation,” says Turgut Tülü, Chancellor of Constructor University. “Moreover, the fact that Constructor University has received the accreditation without any conditions underscores the quality and effectiveness at the heart of our programs.”
The external review panel praised the university’s well-established and sustainably implemented quality management framework, highlighting its clear educational mission, transparent internal accreditation procedures, strong culture of continuous improvement, and broad participation of students, faculty, and administrative staff. The reviewers also commended the structured quality cycles and the integration of quality assurance across both academic and support functions.
“This accreditation is outstanding news for our university and a remarkable achievement for our entire community,” said Dr. Frazer Cairns, Provost at Constructor University. “It is the result of years of dedicated work across the institution to build a quality culture that places excellence in teaching and learning at its core. I would especially like to acknowledge the contributions of Maja Feldt, our former Vice President of Quality Management, Academic and Student Services and Franziska Klarl, Head of Quality Management, whose sustained commitment, expertise, and leadership over several years were instrumental in advancing and strengthening our quality assurance system.”
"System accreditation without conditions is the culmination of a long-term institutional effort involving every part of our university — faculty, students, professional services, and leadership alike," says President Sir Konstantin Novoselov. "Quality in education is the foundation upon which we build the next generation of scientists, engineers, and leaders, and I am proud that our shared commitment to delivering an outstanding educational experience has been validated against the highest European standards."
Looking ahead, system accreditation will enable Constructor University to respond more efficiently to emerging academic opportunities, develop innovative programs, and further align its teaching portfolio with its strategic priorities. Together with the university’s continued investment in research, innovation, and campus development, the accreditation provides a strong foundation for future growth and reinforces Constructor University’s position as a leading international university in Europe.
