TEDx conference at Jacobs University: Growth in Collaboration
March 8, 2022
Amazing connections between science, research, everyday life and the world of work – the topics of the world-renowned "TED" conferences are diverse and thought-provoking. This year's TEDx conference at Jacobs University Bremen also promises to be exciting. "Incrementum: Growth in Collaboration" – this is the motto of the event, which is organized by students and will take place in a hybrid format on March 26. Admission is free.
The motto finds its origin in the current pandemic, which has forced people in all positions and walks of life to radically rethink and reorganize. Sectors that previously seemed to have few points of contact and developed independently grew together in the time of crisis and continued to develop together. "Areas from medicine, politics and business are now connected in a way they never were before. This development is very exciting," said Luisa Lühdorff and Luna Miskevich, the main organizers of the event.
Guests will include international experts from a wide range of industries: Clare Rudo, start-up founder and author is driving the dialogue on diversity and equality at the executive level and Lara Obst from The Climate Choice helps companies reduce their environmental footprint. Not one but two Forbes 30 under 30 Europe award winners will enrich the conference. Cornel Amariei received the 2016 award; the Jacobs alumnus is CEO of .lumen and developed a technological alternative that replaces guide dogs. French artist Alexandra Sophie was awarded in 2018. Her photographs have appeared on covers of well-known fashion magazines such as Vogue. With the Forbes 30 under 30 lists, the renowned business magazine Forbes recognizes outstanding personalities under the age of 30.
Other speakers include technology innovator and PHYSEC CEO Christian Zenger, Jacobs University alumna Tanja Annabelle Deisler, founder of sustainable fashion brand Corner Office, Ilya Shimchik, Team Principal at Acronis SIT Autonomous, Klaudia Brix, professor of cell biology at Jacobs University as well as principal and historian Niko Gärtner.
The conference will take place on March 26, 2022 in the Campus Center of Jacobs University under the current Corona regulations and can be watched online via a livestream.
