Vice President for Research at Constructor University inducted into prestigious ACM SIGSOFT Software Engineering Academy

Constructor University proudly announces that Prof. Dr. David Rosenblum, Vice President for Research, has been inducted into the inaugural class of the ACM SIGSOFT Software Engineering Academy. The Academy was established by ACM SIGSOFT to honor individuals whose cumulative work has fundamentally shaped the foundations and growth of software engineering. Globally, a select cohort of 80 prominent leaders across research, practice, and education was chosen for their lasting contributions. This appointment highlights the high international standing and global impact of computing research conducted at Constructor University. 

The Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) is the world’s largest educational and scientific computing society. Its Special Interest Group on Software Engineering (SIGSOFT) sponsors and co-sponsors all major international research conferences in the field. The launch of the Academy comes as part of the ongoing celebrations marking fifty years of ACM SIGSOFT. Moving forward, the Academy will function as a standing body of honor, with new members elected annually through community nominations.

This honor recognizes Prof. Rosenblum’s many decades of research excellence as well as his long-standing commitment to SIGSOFT, as he previously served fourteen years on the Executive Committee, three of which as Chair. He has also been awarded the inaugural ACM SIGSOFT Software Impact Paper award, a “test-of-time" award for a paper he co-authored with Alexander L. Wolf in 1997, as well as the ACM SIGSOFT Distinguished Service Award in 2018.

This recognition underscores the immense value Prof. Rosenblum brings to the institution. In his role, he channels this world-class expertise directly into the advancement of research and education in computer science and software engineering at Constructor Knowledge, further cementing the university's global academic standing.  

About David Rosenblum

Prof. Dr. David Rosenblum is Professor of Computer Science and Vice President for Research at Constructor University. After earning his PhD from Stanford University in 1988, his career included roles at AT&T Bell Laboratories, the University of California, Irvine, University College London, the National University of Singapore, and George Mason University. His research interests are in the applications of machine learning to problems in software engineering and distributed systems. He is a Fellow of both the ACM and the IEEE.
