A year-long celebration 25 years in the making: Constructor University turns 25 in 2026.
Twenty-five years ago, an unprecedented decision from a group of bold visionaries became reality, when a private, international university built on the site of a former military base in Bremen, Germany officially opened its doors to the world. In 2026, we are proud to honor our 25-year history with a year-long celebration spanning exhibitions, media productions, conferences, a historical archive and special events, including a formal gala on our official jubilee: September 19, 2026. A site that once symbolized division has been rebuilt over the course of generations into a place for dialogue, discovery and collaboration. Today, that transformation stands as one of our greatest achievements—and as the foundation for everything we continue to build together.
Constructor University’s 25th anniversary is a year-long celebration of the decisions that shaped us: the courageous choices made by our founders, the curiosity-driven paths taken by our researchers, the ambition of students who came from far and wide to shape their and our futures, as well as the dedication of faculty and staff who believed in a new kind of university. “25 Years of Decision Making” spotlights the intentional choices that helped take us to where we are today. From pioneering research to global collaboration and deep connections with our local community, these decisions have served as the foundation for our legacy and will continue to cement it as we move forward.
Throughout 2026, we will reflect on our history and share it with our community through several commemorative initiatives, including:
- A dedicated landing page that will serve as the central hub for all of our 25th anniversary activities;
- A historical exhibition and archive hosted on campus, developed with the support of distinguished historian Rüdiger Ritter
- A 25th-anniversary book that captures the unique story of our university and its campus
- A full-length campus documentary film currently in production, featuring voices from across our community—faculty, staff, alumni and witnesses to our history
- A celebration gala to be held on campus on September 19, 2026 – the official date of our 25th Jubilee – featuring music, speeches, dignitaries
