October 17th: Freimarkt begins! Freimarkt is an annual fair that has been celebrated in Bremen since the 19th century, and it remains a beloved local tradition. There you can find fun rides and delicious foods such as churros or steak brötchen. If going on rides aren’t really your thing, Freimarkt doubles as a perfect mini-German food tour. It’s a great place to wind down and make great memories with your friends. The vibe is great for taking aesthetic photos for your Instagram and of course funny videos of your friends screaming during the rides.

October 17th: The Constructor Orchestra went on their annual field trip to Hamburg. Specifically, to Elbphilharmonie Grand Hall to experience works by R. Strauss, Saint-Saëns, Prokofiev, Stravinksky and a bonus special piece by Joshua Bell. Students were exposed to and inspired by the music. The field trip served as a rich cultural experience which highlighted the beauty of classical music.

October 18th: Members of the SASA club took to TOS to celebrate the beginning of Diwali, a five-day festival of light. Students wore their traditional clothing, danced the night away and shared the joyous spirit of the festival. The event was open to everyone interested in learning more about the tradition, and it proved to be both vibrant and successful.

October 24th: Alumni of Constructor University visited to give the next generation advice on networking, advancing your career and more. The event took place at the campus center, and it was a great way for students to network and maybe even find a mentor to guide them on their career journey. All in all, it made for a great opportunity for students to build valuable connections and, gain insights into different career paths.

October 25: This marked the first edition of the Cultural Mosaic event, which took place in the IRC. It was a fun event marked by cultural exhibitions ranging from Kenya to Mongolia. Furthermore, you could find cultural foods of different countries such as Plov from Tajikistan and local snacks from Egypt. Even more beautiful was the cultural dances performed by students. It was an evening filled with music, color, delicious food and appreciation for the many cultures that make up Constructor University.

October 29th: To end off the month, the Annual blood drive took place in the IRC in partnership with the Rotaract club and German Red Cross. Students volunteered to donate blood after a quick health scan, contributing to an important cause. Additionally, the Rotaract Club collected donations for the local children in Bremen Vegesack, emphasizing the spirit of giving back to the local community.

All in all, October was a month full of celebration, togetherness and compassion. A great reminder of how colourful and connected our campus can be.
