Siam University is a private, non-profit university in Bangkok, Thailand. It was founded in 1965 by Narong Mongkhonvanit at a moment when Thailand's industrialization was outrunning its supply of technicians, received degree-granting authority in 1973, became a university in 1986, and today enrols around 16,000 students. It has been led by the founding family throughout. Siam has also built multiple connections to the local community — in particular, it serves as a Learning Living Lab for sustainability, incorporating sustainable development across its curriculum, research, and community engagement.

What does succession look like when the institution and the family have grown up together? Caring for sustainability is relatively easy, but how does Siam ensure its practices are borrowed by the local community? We will discuss this and more with Yhing Sawheny, Director of International Affairs at Siam University.

"Currently, there are no seminars exclusively devoted to innovation in higher education. We want to change that. Our webinar series are meant to give both creators of unusual institutions and idea collectors like us a space to discuss what's possible."
