Global Ocean Robotics Day

Global Robody 2026

Join us for a symposium on marine robotics, happening around the globe, online and in person. Constructor University is one of ten universities worldwide hosting a hub for the day, and everyone at Constructor University is welcome to drop in for a talk, a coffee, or the whole day.

Featured talk at 11 AM

Our own Prof. Dr. Francesco Maurelli will speak on Physical AI powering smart seas: advanced sensing and navigation.

He will explore how Physical AI is changing the way autonomous underwater robots perceive, navigate, and reason about their environment. Using a vivid and challenging scenario, he will walk through the building blocks of smart marine systems: advanced sensing, sonar- and vision-based perception, navigation under uncertainty, fault resilience, and onboard cognition.

Robotics at Constructor University Robotics is a growing part of life on our campus.

Our BSc in Robotics and Intelligent Systems is a three-year, English-taught program in the School of Computer Science & Engineering, chaired by Francesco Maurelli. Students learn how to build autonomous systems that work with little or no human supervision, with applications from transportation to logistics to marine technology. Marine robotics is also one of the specialization electives in the third year. If you’re curious about what our students are working on, this is a good day to come and ask.
