herCAREER Munich

Two days in Munich, filled with conversations, new connections, inspiring perspectives and a great opportunity to bring together career development, employer engagement and our alumni community.

herCAREER

On Thursday and Friday, Career Services attended herCAREER in Munich, connecting with companies, exploring potential partnerships and gathering inspiration for our own career activities at Constructor University.

Career Services also joined several talks covering topics ranging from career development and networking to diversity, neurodivergence and female participation in business and politics:

  • Die Börse ist kein Männerclub
  • Mehr Frauen in die Politik
  • LinkedIn und deine Karriere – warum es kein Nice-to-have mehr ist
  • Neurodivergenz am Arbeitsplatz: Handlungssicherheit für HR und Führungskräfte
  • Breaking Networking Barriers: Practical Strategies to Build Meaningful Professional Relationships
  • Frauenpartizipation in der Politik

A recurring theme throughout the two days was that careers are built not only through qualifications, but also through visibility, meaningful connections and environments in which different perspectives can contribute.

Employer Engagement

herCAREER was also a valuable opportunity to connect with companies from different industries and explore potential touchpoints for our students and career activities.

Companies Career Services interacted with included:

  • JetBrains, one of our existing partner companies
  • Constructor Nexademy (From our Ecosystem)
  • PALFINGER
  • Arthrex
  • Deloitte
  • Vector
  • Hitachi Energy
  • AssetMetrix GmbH

The fair provided a great setting not only to establish new contacts, but also to strengthen existing relationships and explore how companies can become part of the Constructor career ecosystem.

Alumni at herCAREER

A particularly nice part of the fair was meeting Constructor alumna Isabella Langen (UG20 ISCP, M22 PSYCH) at herCAREER.

Connecting employer engagement with our alumni network creates opportunities on both sides: our alumni remain part of the Constructor community after graduation, while their experiences, companies and professional networks can provide valuable perspectives for today’s students.

Munich Alumni Meet-Up

Since Career Services was already in Munich, the opportunity was used to bring together Constructor and Jacobs alumni for an informal dinner at L’Osteria München Künstlerhaus on Thursday evening.

What was planned as a simple get-together became a wonderful evening with alumni from different graduation years, programs and professional backgrounds:

  • Ariunbaatar Ganbaatar – UG22 CS
  • Ishansh Gupta – M21 DE
  • Andrea Giuliani – UG18 IRPH
  • Isabella Langen – UG20 ISCP, M22 PSYCH
  • Adriana Martinez – UG23 DSSB
  • Devashis Shrestha – M21 DE
  • Letisa Derveni – UG22 MCCB
  • Muslim Bayemirov – UG25 CS
  • Martinaiden Demaj – MCCB 23
  • (Muhammad) Abdullah Shah – UG22 IEM
  • Syuzana Iskandaryan – UG23 GEM

Different generations, different programs and different career paths, but a shared connection to Constructor/Jacobs.

The Munich trip showed especially well how closely Alumni Relations and Employer Engagement can complement each other. A career fair does not only create opportunities to meet new companies. It can also be a reason to reconnect with alumni, strengthen our professional network and create new connections between our university community and the industries our graduates are now part of.

Two busy days, many conversations and plenty of new ideas and contacts to bring back to Bremen.
