My journey in science spans a highly interdisciplinary spectrum, bridging fundamental material science, industrial applications, and the evolution of teaching methodologies. A significant chapter of my story in Applied Physics deals with the characterization and enhancement of ethylene tetrafluoroethylene (ETFE) films, which are increasingly used in modern architecture for transparent cladding systems. In this field, I investigate material parameters – such as optical properties, mechanical strength, and thermodynamic welding behavior. Working closely with European university and industrial partners, sustainable recycling protocols and the structural integration of solar cells directly into architectural membranes will be advanced.
In Semiconductor Physics and Nanotechnology, my passion lies in organic and printed electronics. Much of my published work explores nanoscale field-effect transistors, ultra-thin multi-layer materials, and transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs). My goal here is to develop together with the other workgroups new concept electronic devices. This work naturally intersects with my deep fascination for Optics and Surface Science, where I utilize advanced spectroscopic methods to investigate phenomena like surface band bendings, electrochemically deposited nanostructures, and surface state-derived electronic transitions. Beyond the laboratory, I am committed to the future of science through Teaching and STEM didactics. I actively explore and implement novel instructional methodologies, with a particular focus on integrating Artificial Intelligence into the higher education curriculum. By embracing these next-generation educational technologies, I aim to optimize pedagogical frameworks, enhancing the learning efficiency and academic success of my students.
