1. Technical & hardware requirements
- Equipment: Participants must use a reliable desktop computer or laptop. Mobile phones or tablets are prohibited due to screen-sharing limitations.
- Peripherals: A functioning webcam, microphone, and speakers are mandatory. Cameras and audio must remain active throughout the entire session.
- Connection & displays: A stable broadband internet connection is required. Multi-monitor setups are strictly forbidden; any secondary monitors must be unplugged or physically covered.
2. Environment & workspace setup
- Isolated room: Participants must take the exam alone in a quiet, closed, and well-lit room.
- Clean desk: The testing surface must be completely clear of books, notes, and unauthorized electronic devices.
- Camera angle: The webcam must be positioned to clearly show the participant's face, hands, workspace, and scratch paper at all times.
3. Identity verification
ID check: Participants must present a valid government-issued photo ID (passport, national ID, driver's license) or an official school photo ID prior to starting the test.
4. Permitted vs. prohibited materials
- Allowed items: Blank sheets of scratch paper, pens/pencils/erasers, ruler/compass.
- Prohibited items: Smartwatches, headphones, phones (must be turned off and placed out of reach or face-down in view), calculators, textbooks, formula sheets, external software.
- AI & search bans: Using AI tools or browser-based search engines is an immediate ground for disqualification.
5. Exam conduct & behavioral rules
- No communication: Contestants cannot talk, whisper, read questions aloud, or communicate with anyone else during the exam window.
- Restroom breaks: Breaks are not permitted. Leaving the webcam frame results in an automatic flag for suspicious behavior.
- Time management: The timer runs continuously on the platform server. If a participant experiences a brief technical drop (up to 45 seconds), they will be allowed to reconnect, but lost time will not be compensated. Breaks longer than 45 seconds will result in an automatic flag for suspicious behavior.
- Submission Window: Solutions of the full-reasoning questions must be submitted strictly within the last 5 minutes of the examination. During this time period, participants will be allowed to use their phones or scanners as well as the applications needed to make photos or scans of their solutions and upload them to the platform.
6. Exam structure and scoring
- 3 major topics: Combinatorics and probability, Algebra and number theory, Calculus.
- 9 questions and 39 points in total: The exam will contain:
- 3 questions worth 2 points each (only answer needed),
- 3 questions worth 4 points each (only answer needed),
- 3 questions worth 7 points each (full reasoning needed, manual review will be applied).
- Threshold for the manual review: The solutions of the 3 full-reasoning questions will be reviewed and graded only for those participants who score at least 12 points (out of 18 possible) at the 6 answer-only questions.
7. Violations & disqualification
Participants must comply with all examination and proctoring rules. Suspected violations will be flagged and reviewed after the examination. Confirmed use of unauthorized assistance, AI tools, search engines, prohibited devices, communication with others, impersonation, or other forms of academic misconduct may result in disqualification and exclusion from related certificate awardment and scholarship selection. The decision of the examination review team regarding violations and examination results is final.
