Erasmus+

What is Erasmus+?
“ERASMUS+” – the EuRopean Action Scheme for the Mobility of University Students – is a project for the enhancement of academic exchange within the European Union (EU). “ERASMUS+” fosters the exchange of students of all degree cycles, faculty, and staff. The 27 EU member states as well as Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, and Turkey (the United Kingdom and Switzerland are expected to join starting 2027) are part of the “ERASMUS+” program.
You can find more information on the website of the European Commission: Erasmus Plus Programme
General Information
The current generation of the Erasmus+ program began in 2021 it runs through the end of 2027. This program generation combines a high degree of continuity with programatic innovations. While many of the familiar funding lines will be retained, new funding lines have been added and the program structure adapted. At the same time, the EU Commission has set Digitalisation, Green Erasmus, Social Inclusion, and Civic Engagement as new priorities for this program generation. The European Commission has awarded Constructor University with the Erasmus University Charta for the duration of the program (2021-2027) in accordance with its European Policy Statement. Constructor University's Erasmus+ institutional code is D BREMEN09.
All undergraduate students and employees at Constructor University are eligible to apply to take part in the ERASMUS+ Programming. Erasmus+ supports the international learning mobility of individuals within the framework of Key Action 1 (KA 1). Mobility grants can be used for study, research, training, and teaching purposes (incoming and outgoing) and are aimed at students (bachelor's), teachers, and academic and non-academic university staff. Online students are not eligible at this time.
At Constructor University, we have 2 main ERASMUS+ Projects KA 131 and KA 171.
ERASMUS KA 131 is the classic individual mobility program that focuses primarily on the sending of staff, faculty and undergraduate students on mobilities within the ERASMUS Partnership Countries. Students can participate in internships or academic mobilities for either a semester or for Short Term Blended Intensive Programs BIPS for ECTS.
In addition to traditional mobility between universities in program countries, KA 171 or the International Credit Mobility Program (until 2020: KA 107) offers the possibility of mobility with non-European partner universities since 2015. The Erasmus KA 171 is for specific individual staff, faculty and student mobilities outside of the EU.
The mobility directions and levels specifically eligible for funding depends on the partner country and is determined by the European Commission. Restrictions in KA 171 particularly affect mobility for students.
Erasmus+ KA171 program supports European universities to establish mobility agreements with partners worldwide to send and host faculty staff and students. Students can study abroad and receive an Erasmus+ scholarship for living expenses and travel costs. Staff can teach abroad and/or undergo training and receive an Erasmus+ scholarship. The aim is to support students and staff in acquiring key competencies and skills and improving their employability.
Constructor University has successfully applied for funding under the 2025 program with its international partners. The project runs from August 1, 2025, to July 31, 2028.

Social participation, diversity, and sustainability are guiding themes of the Erasmus+ program generation 2021 – 2027. With a variety of measures at different levels, the program aims to make a significant contribution to more equal opportunities in all areas of education. Constructor University shares these goals and encourages all our students and staff to participate fully in the Erasmus+ programming and encourage all that qualify to access this additional support. We believe that every student or staff member that would like to participate in a mobility or experience abroad should be able to do so.
Regardless of the program country, so-called "Social Top up", of up to € 250.00 per funded month can be awarded. All Social Top ups can be combined with the Top up for green mobility.
An initial query is made during the application process for a study or internship. Students must submit their Declaration of Honor when applying for their study or internship abroad. Binding applications can then be submitted online within the communicated deadline. Late applications cannot be considered.
Students with disabilities and students planning to study abroad with child/ren may alternatively apply for a "Realkostenantrag" or the actual costs incurred.
