What aspects of the University captured your interest and motivated you to study there?
Growing up as third culture kid in China with a German father and a Cantonese mother, I embrace the exposure of different cultures. I wanted to reconnect with my heritage while being part of an international community. Constructor University stood out to me because of its incredible diversity. There were students from over 200 countries and I really had the chance to meet many people in countries I have never even heard of. I’ve always loved learning about different cultures, and being in such a dynamic environment felt like the perfect fit.
I also thrive best in smaller environments and this university size made it easier to build meaningful relationships. There was a real sense of community – something I deeply value.
Also the campus looks amazing!
How did campus life contribute to your development outside the classroom, and what is your best memory?
Campus life at Constructor was truly a once in a lifetime experience. At Constructor, you could be anything. You could be a scientist in the lab. You could be an actress, singer or dancer. You could be a leader. You could be a CEO. You could be a model. You could be a celebrity. You could be a peer counsellor. You could run for student government. Anything you can think of.
It encouraged us to step outside our comfort zones and explore different sides of ourselves.
There were cultural events and student-led activities – whether it was the Country Information Days, Spotlight, or the themed parties at „The Other Side“ that made campus feel like its own little world. We were running our own mini society, where inclusion and community were at the heart of everything. No matter what your interests were – tech, arts, sports, languages – there was always a place for you.
One of the best memories I had was „African Heritage“ where you learnt about the diverse cultures, participated in fashion shows, took part in dance performances, ate amazing food and followed by partying all night with the best afrobeats music! It was also an event which brought everyone together.
What is your career highlight thus far, and what are you most proud of as a young professional?
One of my favourite career moments was starting a band called „Dead Buffaloes“ at a former startup I used to worked for. It played an important part in promoting our company culture. I am also proud of how I’ve found a balance between my different passions and my career. From recruitment and facilitation to music and intercultural training, I’ve shaped a path that truly aligns with who I am.
Another meaningful highlight has been launching my own podcast, „How Did You Find Out?“ where I share the stories of young cancer survivors to raise awareness and challenge stereotypes about cancer diagnoses in younger people. Being able to connect my personal journey with something impactful has been incredibly fulfilling.
What advice would you give to current students at Constructor University?

Try not to stress too much about grades. As a former recruiter, I have come to the realisation that many companies don’t place a lot of emphasis on specific GPAs. They value practical experiences so be sure to get involved in things that speak to your heart. Join a club, volunteer, find internships, apply for a student job or even start your own podcast. These experiences will shape you in ways that go beyond the classroom.
Be open to exploring different paths – You don’t have to have everything figured out. Take risks, try new things, and let yourself evolve. Say yes to things even if it feels scary. It’s better to do it scared than to not try. You will never know where things may lead
