Give the gift of joy: Constructor University and Make-a-Wish brighten the holidays for children in Bremen-Nord
Santa has a few extra helpers spreading holiday cheer to the children of Bremen-Nord this season, thanks to the students of Constructor University’s Rotaract Club. In what has become a cherished tradition that brings the university together with the broader local community, the 17th annual “Make-a-Wish” campaign will deliver personalized Christmas gifts to more than 300 children from KITA Neuenkirchener Weg, KITA Fillerkamp and EPSYMO e.V. programs.
“Seeing the smiles on the face of the children is a beautiful reminder that community starts in our own backyard,” said Sofiya Kirillova, president of the Constructor university Rotaract Club. “We’re so grateful to everyone who helps bring Make-a-Wish to life each year. They are the true Santa’s Helpers.”
Elke Schött from the Parents' Association for Psychomotor Development (EPSYMO), a key community partner in Make-a-Wish, echoed how much the event means to those who need it most: “make-a-Wish helps us spread the joy of the season to all children in the community, including those who are less fortunate. While it's a big undertaking each year, seeing the children’s eyes light up when they get their gifts makes it all worthwhile,” she said.
Schött credits Make-a-Wish's longstanding success to the willingness of the local community to come together. “Seeing the dedication of Constructor students and the generosity of everyone who delivers beautifully wrapped gifts to us each year shows us that the spirit of Christmas is truly alive and well in our community,” she said. “Since 2009, our partnership with Constructor University has grown into a cherished tradition. It strengthens our community spirit, brings people together and inspires joy and hope for everyone involved.”
Participation in Make-a-Wish is open to everyone. So together with your help, let’s make this holiday season unforgettable for every child!
