Alumni Quarantine Diaries: Uniting the Community Online

Alumni Quarantine Diaries: Uniting the Community Online

The COVID-19 global pandemic took the world by surprise this year and it was difficult to find ways to maintain productivity, learn new skills, and most importantly stay connected. In the beginning, it was especially difficult to find creative and informative outlets within the four walls of quarantined living.

Jacobs Alumni came together in solidarity during this time to unite the community online by creating the Alumni Quarantine Diaries: an online series featured on social media where alumni provided insights on their hobbies, passions, and expertise. Coming from a diverse campus, Jacobs Alumni are all over the world and have a myriad of special interests. Alumni, like Pablo Ochoa (’13) and Owen Gurrey (’13) shared their musical talents, while others like Regina Velazquez (’19), and Gesa Körte (’16) shared informative workshops on their devoted trades.

Every week alumni were able to provide a break from the worries in the time of a pandemic with familiar faces, entertaining sessions, and tons of new skills to develop in quarantine while #stayingathome.

All featured sessions:

Pablo Ochoa ('13) - Living Room Concert

Gesa Körte ('16)  - Gardening 101

Regina Velazquez Toscano ('18) - Photography Workshop
