Research Interests

Professor Ante's research interests lie at the intersection of finance, technology, and innovation, with a particular focus on how emerging technologies transform economic systems and societal structures. His scholarly work encompasses a broad exploration of blockchain technology, cryptocurrencies, and digital assets, examining their implications for financial markets, organizational practices, and regulatory frameworks.

He investigates how digital platforms and technologies, such as blockchain, enable new business models and entrepreneurial ventures. By exploring the opportunities and challenges that entrepreneurs, consumers, and investors face in the digital economy, his research focuses on areas such as:

  • Democratizing access to capital: Studying how novel funding models, like Initial Coin Offerings (ICOs) and Security Token Offerings (STOs), provide alternative financing options for startups and small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), thus democratizing access to capital beyond traditional venture funding.
  • Enabling new assets and markets: Analyzing how blockchain technology facilitates the creation of new assets and markets, including cryptocurrencies, non-fungible tokens (NFTs), fan tokens, and decentralized finance (DeFi) platforms, which are reshaping investment landscapes, consumer engagement and financial interactions.
  • Transforming organizational structures: Examining how digital assets and decentralized organizations, such as Decentralized Autonomous Organizations (DAOs), are redefining traditional business models and governance structures, leading to more transparent, efficient, and participatory organizational practices.
  • Advancing financial inclusion: Exploring how financial technology (fintech) solutions, such as stablecoins, contribute to financial inclusion by providing access to financial services for underserved populations, promoting broader economic participation, and reducing inequality.

Overall, Professor Ante's research aims to understand and address the complexities of the digital economy. With his work, he aims to offer insights into how emerging technologies can be harnessed to foster innovation, efficiency, and inclusivity in finance and entrepreneurship, ultimately contributing to the transformation of economic systems and societal structures.
