Constructor University, in collaboration with the CultTech Association Vienna is announcing the launch of the first-ever CultTech Camp, an initiative designed to bridge the worlds of culture and technology. Scheduled from April 25-28th at the university’s campus in Bremen Germany, this event promises to break ground on interdisciplinary collaboration, and create synergies between scientific inquiry and artistic expression.

Over four days, CultTech Camp will bring together twenty renowned artists and scientists to explore and reflect on the mutual benefits that culture and technology can offer each other. This unique gathering is poised to foster the development of collaborative prototypes and educational programs, paving the way for ongoing integration of technology in the arts.

Featured Participants and Events Include:

  • Renowned Artists: The camp will feature a variety of esteemed artists including Brigitta Muntendorf, Painé Cuadrelli, and Gian Maria Tosatti, who will share their experiences and insights on integrating technology with artistic processes.
  • April 24: CultTech Summit and Opening Dinner: Kick-off with a summit featuring Sir Kostya Novoselov (Nobel Prize-winning physicist and artist), Pierre-François Marteau (Board member of CultTech Association), and Kate Daudy (artist). The summit will focus on the integration of arts and technology in education and society, followed by a welcome dinner at Restaurant Ratskeller.
  • April 25: Flash Foresight on CultTech: Participants will engage in foresight sessions to envision and plan the future of CultTech, mapping out interests and identifying educational program opportunities.
  • April 26: CultTech Projects Hackathon: Teams will form to prototype CultTech projects, with an emphasis on innovation and user engagement in cultural technologies.
  • April 27: Development and Pitching of Projects: Intensive project development sessions leading to internal pitches where participants present their collaborative efforts.
  • April 28: Final Presentations and Discussion: Teams will present their projects to peers and a panel of 'investor' judges, focusing on impact, originality, and feasibility, followed by a strategic discussion on next steps and future collaboration.

Bremen, a hub for culture, and Constructor University, an anchor for technology, create an excellent location for the camp. This event not only offers an opportunity to engage with pioneering thinkers and creators but also serves as a platform for initiating dialogues that could shape the future of both culture and technology. Students, researchers and early-career researchers from within and beyond the university will join this inaugural camp.
