Constructor University celebrated its first graduation under its new name and brand, and bid farewell to the largest graduating class in its history. On Thursday, June 8th the graduation festivities began with a Commencement Gala full of inspiring speeches and performances, followed by the Diploma Ceremonies on June 9th where graduates received their diplomas on stage.

With a diverse, entertaining program and numerous inspiring speeches, Constructor University bid a ceremonial farewell to the more than 540 graduates of the Class of 2023 on Thursday and Friday. A goodbye to the largest graduation class in the University's history – which is at the same time the first class graduating under the University's new name, Constructor University. The two-day graduation festivities began on Thursday with the Graduation Commencement Gala, at which the students, together with members of the faculty, their friends and families from all over the world, looked back on their studies at Constructor University in Bremen, also casting a glance towards their bright futures lying ahead.

In an emotional speech, Jeeva Sam, who received her Master's degree in Data Engineering, said: "In the last two years, I have grown incredibly as a person: I have overcome fears, made lifelong friends, gained new insights and collected countless memories. All of this will stay with me forever and these experiences have changed me for the better. I would like to thank everyone who supported us on this journey. Our Faculty and the members of the University who shared their knowledge and expertise with us. But also to our friends and families who have always supported us. All of you are an essential part of our success; without you, we would not be here today."

University President Dr. Stanislav Protasov also addressed the graduates with inspiring words, encouraging them in their future life journey. "Graduation ceremonies mark the end of a chapter, and the beginning of a new, exciting path. During their studies, our graduates showed academic excellence, but also shaped, honed and demonstrated their problem-solving, creativity and leadership skills. That's why I'm sure they will have a positive impact on society with their knowledge and dedication," Protasov said of the graduating class.

In his keynote, Kirill Tatarinov, Executive Vice Chairman of Acronis, addressed the students, emphasizing the importance of education, sharing lessons from his own journey with the graduates. Other speakers included Prof. Dr. Raymond O’Neil Wells Jr., founding father of the University, who was also honored with a special award for his extraordinary engagement with the university, as well as Dr. Cornelia Scheitz, President of the Alumni Association, Chairman of the Board of Governors of Constructor University, Dr. Serg Bell, and Vice Chairman Dr. Philipp Rösler. The gala program was rounded off by musical contributions and performances by the international students.

On Friday, the graduates were acknowledged for their outstanding achievements, receiving their diplomas in the presence of their families during the formal Diploma Ceremonies. Numerous guests of honor, including senior university officials, faculty members, and friends and supporters of the university were also present to rejoice along with the students. The festivities culminated on Friday with the traditional Hat Toss to mark this momentous occasion and special time in the lives of all graduates.
