In September 2026, Constructor University will proudly celebrate its 25th anniversary. To commemorate this milestone, we are preparing a special historical exhibition, a documentary film, and a commemorative book highlighting the unique history of our university and its campus. Erected in 1936, these buildings will be celebrating their 90th anniversary. Over the decades, this site has served many purposes before the university was established: anti-aircraft barracks (1936-1945), US military barracks (1945-1948), a displaced persons camp (1948-1952), and Bundeswehr barracks (1955-1999).
With the support of a distinguished historian, we are also establishing a historical archive that will play an important role in shaping the content of the anniversary initiatives. Personal memories are an invaluable part of this story.
For the exhibition about the multifaceted history of the campus in Grohn, the foundation of the IUB in 2001, and its path to Germany´s first-ranked private university (THE ranking 2025) with >2000 students from >130 countries in 2025, funding is needed to cover exhibition material costs and history research fees of the distinguished historian.
