Tecnológico de Monterrey is a private nonprofit multi-campus university system with 20 campuses in Mexico. It is distinguished by its academic excellence, innovation in education, entrepreneurial spirit, internationalization, and strong ties with the industry.
Among its innovations in education includes novel degree programs, the first to establish an internet connection in LATAM, distance learning, use of new educational technologies and pedagogies, including near-holographic tele-presence, VR/AR, metaverse, and generative AI. Its new educational model, Tec21 is a challenge-based model that has attracted international attention for its disruptive approach.

Dr. David Garza – President, Tecnologico de Monterrey
- David Garza is the President of Tecnológico de Monterrey (Tec), overseeing a university system with over 61,000 university-level students and 27,000 senior high school students across 32 cities in Mexico. He also supervises Tecmilenio University and TecSalud.
- With over 35 years of leadership roles at Tec, he has been instrumental in academic innovation, including the development of the Tec21 educational model across 26 campuses and six schools.
- Garza is involved with several global organizations, including serving as the Deputy Chair of Universitas 21, a member of the Board of Trustees of SACSCOC, and participating in the Steering Committee of APRU and the advisory council of The Edison Alliance at the World Economic Forum
- He holds a B.Sc. in Computer Science from Tecnológico de Monterrey and a Ph.D. in the same field from Colorado State University; and has been a speaker in over 20 countries and authored numerous articles.
