Mahlaqua's exceptional academic achievement and dedication to positively impacting society have earned her a prestigious Doctorate Scholarship from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. During her doctoral studies at Cambridge University, she will delve into the complex world of "human cytomegalovirus" (HCMV). Her solid foundation in the field, built through her studies at Constructor University, was a key factor in her being awarded the Gates Fellowship. The university's rigorous curriculum, which emphasized hands-on laboratory work, exposure to cutting-edge research from the very beginning, personalized guidance, and opportunities for international research experience through programs like the Summer Undergraduate Research Program at the New York University School of Medicine, all played a role in making her application stand out.

Before enrolling at Jacobs University, I had some prior knowledge about the institution, but I couldn't fully grasp the impact it would have on my future. I expected to receive exceptional lectures from my professors, but I couldn't anticipate the extent to which they would help me transition to the next stage of my professional life. Little did I know that Jacobs professors held a high level of esteem and were well-connected globally within their respective fields. I owe a great deal of gratitude to Jacobs University for equipping me with the necessary skills and resources to succeed in my next career phase and for positioning me to make a smooth transition into it.
