Constructor Career Fair: professional networking for a career start
The booths at the career fair at Constructor University in Bremen were crowded, the company presentations very well attended. After three years of virtual exchange, students and companies celebrated the opportunity for in-person networking at the Constructor Career Fair last Wednesday.
The Constructor Career Fair is a marketplace of opportunities for students and companies. Many times the conversations led to internships or other agreements about starting a career. "The fair is a successful format, and many contacts have been made between students and companies," said Sinah Vogel, Career Services and Employer Relations Coordinator at the international university.
In search of young talent, 24 companies were represented on site – from regional and internationally active companies to research institutions or start-ups. Among them Acronis, Deloitte, DMK Group, Evonik, KPMG and the Fraunhofer Institute (FHR). Constructor University also presented itself as an employer; it is one of the largest in Bremen-Nord. "I was very pleased to see how many of our students showed interest in pursuing a career at the university. They often don't realize what a diverse company we are," reports Rebecca Meyer, member of the university's People Management department, "It's also a nice opportunity for us to make personal contact with the students for whom we do our work every day."
The well-rounded and open-minded graduates of Constructor University are highly sought after by many companies. More than 1,000 students, also from other universities in the region, learned about the companies' offers. Beforehand, they could register for individual interviews via the "Talentspace" platform or secure a place for one of the company presentations.
The organization of the fair was supported by IQB Career Service GmbH, a company of the F.A.Z. publishing group. As in previous years, the Bremen Chamber of Commerce - IHK for Bremen and Bremerhaven was the patron of the event. The networking event started after the end of the exhibition, where exhibitors were able to exchange ideas with lecturers and employees of Constructor University.
