On November 2, 2022, STEM Day is taking place for the fourth time in Bremen and Bremerhaven. It aims to attract and inspire high school pupils in the areas of science, technology, engineering and mathematics – in short STEM. Jacobs University Bremen is one of the locations in Bremen hosting the program and offers a variety of workshops and seminars free of charge. Spots are still available- students can register today.

What do ultrafast laser pulses and birds have in common? Is the fear of 5G mobile radiation justified? And how is bubble tea is connected to STEM? These and more topics will be addressed during STEM Day at Jacobs University on November 2nd. In addition, the program includes seminars on research with chocolate, the use of bio technology in the pharmaceutical industry, workshops dealing with circular economy, and also Big Data and Intelligent Systems. The digital impact Lab Vegesack and the meerMINT initiative contribute further offerings for students searching for more knowledge.

The interactive workshops and seminars give participants the opportunity to directly apply what they have learned. They will also get the chance to speak with university students about their study experience at Jacobs University and take part in a tour around campus. While most pupils are in the process of deciding about their next professional steps, this offer is a unique opportunity to immerse in the college atmosphere.

The STEM Day is organized by the MINTforum Bremen in collaboration with the Bremen Senator for Science and Ports and Senator for Children and Education. The program targets schools and is free of charge. All events must be booked online in advance.
