Spring starts when J-Cappella sings
May 2, 2019
Bringing passion to the stage, emotions and a lot of feeling: It's no wonder that J-Cappella, the choir of Jacobs University Bremen, has a large fan base, which will continue to grow on 12 May at 6 p.m. The international ensemble invites you to its traditional spring concert in the Conference Hall on the campus of Jacobs University. Tickets are available at the box office, admission starts at 5:30 p.m.
J-Cappella's repertoire is characterized above all by the various musical and cultural influences of the choir members, who come from all over the world. The choir takes its visitors on an atmospheric musical journey around the world – jazz, musicals or pop are as much a part of the program as classical choral music, Cuban rhythms and film music.
Since 2008, the composer and pianist Rucsandra Popescu has been leading the choir, which released a CD to mark its tenth-anniversary last year. “The diversity gives J-Cappella an incredible presence. Everyone wants to sing more than just a little, the singers are ambitious, they want to improve their level and are willing to invest a lot in it. As a conductor, this is a great pleasure for me,” says Rucsandra Popescu.
Tickets are only available at the box office, reservations are not possible. Tickets cost 9 euros for adults and 5 euros for students.
