Welcome Professor Idemudia
October 12, 2015
The motivation for his work is passion and interest for a better world. As a recipient of the prestigious Georg Forster Research Award Dr. Erharbor S. Idemudia, clinical psychologist from North-West University in South Africa, will spend a year as visiting Professor at Jacobs University. During this time he will work on the psychology profiles of 3000 African migrants in six European countries, including Germany.
Based on theoretical, psychological and statistical data the study is aimed to bring out a comprehensive psychology profile of the African migrant in Europe. Professor Idemudia will also be working on other related projects with Professors Klaus Boehnke and Michele Gelfand at the Bremen International Graduate School of Social Sciences (BIGSSS). „People should try and remove stereotypes“, he said when asked to give a suggestion for everybody’s personal life. „Stereotypes breeds racism. Be nice neighbours and be your brother’s keeper.“
