In the programming competition jacobsHack! good software is developed each year literally overnight. Young IT talents are asked to “hack” – or program – a useful and creative software product within 24 hours. Interested parties have until Friday, September 30th to register for the competition.
Up to 200 young programming talents can take part in the competition, which is being held this year from October 15th to 16th on the campus of Jacobs University. In teams with a maximum of four people, the participants implement their software idea literally overnight and present it to an expert jury. The best programming ideas are honored with attractive prizes, which are made available by sponsors from the IT sector. Eligible participants are students as well as graduates who received their degree a maximum of one year ago. For the second time, “jacobsHack!” is part of “Major League Hacking” – a series of competitions being held, among other places, in Barcelona, London, Oxford, and Helsinki. Again this year, the event was organized by students and alumni of Jacobs University. The participants not only have an opportunity to get to know and engage in an exchange with developers and programmers from around the world. On the campus of the international university, they also meet representatives from industry, because “jacobsHack!” is also a kind of career fair. Numerous companies take advantage of the opportunity to meet young talents and recruit them for their company.
