Under the motto "Test your lab skills!", the meerMINT initiative once again hosted Zukunftstag (“Future Day”) at their Dock Nord location at Constructor University in Bremen. On April 27th 2023 pupils from 7th, 8th and 9th grade got exciting insights into the research labs of the international university. The focus of the event? Exploring the natural sciences together.

Janina Müller, student of Biochemistry and Cell Biology, and Maren Rehders, Technical Assistant, gave insights into what it means to work in a laboratory, and conducted experiments with the fifteen participants, such as extracting DNA from tomatoes and determine the pH level of various solutions using red cabbage.

“Everything was much more hands-on than our Science class at school. But the lab tour was the most interesting!”, all participants agreed. “Future Day is a great opportunity for pupils to learn about what actually happens at our university and the wide variety of opportunities available to high school graduates here," said Freia Hardt, Director of Student Affairs at Constructor University.
