Celebrating the Class of 2024: Ready to Fly

In June, we celebrated the 21st graduating class of Constructor University under the inspiring motto “Ready to Fly.” We proudly welcomed 401 talented graduates into the alumni community—congratulations to the Class of 2024!

Agenda:

Day 1: June 11th - Commencement Gala 

• University Image Film Debut 
•  Keynote Address: Prof. Alexandra Boltasseva Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Purdue University and Chairwoman of the Strategic Advisory Board at Constructor Group, inspired graduates with her message to embrace discomfort and change, quoting Dr. Orit Wolf: “Break the rules and make them your own.” · 
• University Address: President Dr. Stanislav Protasov encouraged graduates to embrace challenges and foster personal growth.
•  Special Guests: Member of BoG of Constrcutor University, VP for Outreach & Grant Management Elena Novoselova, Beyond the Pond Alumni Association president Dr. Cornelia Scheitz (2004), alumna Francoise De Sutter (2015), and Vegesack Mayor Gunnar Sgolik. 
• Fireside Chat: Hosted by alumnus Nicklas Vorrink (IEM 2022), where graduates reflected on their transformative time at Constructor, joined by Maya Ahlden, Tsitsi Mabangure, Theresa Roewer, Hazim Saleem, and James Ziemah.
• Entertainment: The audience was treated to stunning performances by the Constructor Orchestra and Campus Crew. 
• VIP Gala Reception: The day concluded with a VIP Gala Reception for graduates joining Beyond the Pond Alumni Association, where families and friends gathered to celebrate the graduates’ achievements.

Day 2: June 12th - Diploma Ceremonies

•  Diploma Ceremony: The graduates celebrated their special day during the Diploma Ceremony. The highlight of this year was the addition of the duck toss photo, adding a playful touch to the traditional graduation photos.
• Traditions Revived - Pioneers Path: One of the most meaningful moments of the ceremony was the revival of the Pioneers Path. Each member of the Class of 2024 received a symbolic stone, representing the journey they’ve undertaken to reach graduation and the path they will continue to forge ahead. These stones serve as a link connecting the alumni community from the Class of 2004 to the present and future generations. The stones were placed in the sundial, which holds stones from all past graduates, symbolizing the enduring legacy of Constructor University.
