Central Asian University: The first private university in Uzbekistan the way for the sector
This webinar is a part of an Innovative Universities Webinar Series.
The Akfa group founded Central Asian University (previously AKFA University) as the first private university in Uzbekistan, a country that previously only had public higher education, in 2019. Central Asian University is based in Tashkent. It features English as the medium of instruction, applied programs in professional fields, including medicine and engineering, and is rapidly developing. How does it differ from public universities? What role does it play in the growing private higher education? What challenges has it faced along the way, how it responded to them, and can this be relevant to other countries with a similar higher education system structure? We will discuss this and more with Shirin Yunusova, Vice Rector for Innovation & Research.
Shirin Yususova currently serves as the Vice Rector for Innovation and Research at Central Asian University.
Shirin focuses on developing the research culture and establishing national and international partnerships. Her previous role was the Director of the Research Center, with an initial background in language instruction.
