Constructor University inspires - our students tell you how:
Max Lohmann
Max Lohmann

“Jacobs definitely challenges and inspires. They force you to go beyond yourself and set yourself new goals – I think that’s something that Jacobs definitely teaches you: go beyond what is expected, try to reach goals that you don’t think are possible, or that you thought you couldn’t. I think you can really make things happen, and then you’re capable of doing that. That’s what Jacobs teaches you.”

Max Lohmann, graduate from 2012 in International Social Science who now works as a policy advisor for GIZ, the German Development Cooperation Agency

Cornel Amariei

“Transdisciplinary courses in completely unrelated fields opened my mind. Now, when I see a problem, I generally can look at it from a whole new set of angles, which I was not able to do before I came here.”

Cornel Amariei, Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences graduate from 2015. Forbes nominated him as one of the “30 under 30” – the most influential young talents in Europe. While still working on his degree, he designed the Lumen glasses for the visually impaired. Today, he is working as Head of Innovation at Continental. He continues work on his pet project as CEO.

Career-focused curriculum

As a core element of Constructor University’s employability approach students are required to engage in a mandatory internship while earning credit points.

This gives students the opportunity to gain first-hand practical experience in a professional environment, apply their knowledge and understanding to a professional context, reflect on the relevance of their major and their own role in employment and society, and find professional orientation.

As an alternative to the full-time internship, students interested in setting up their own company can apply for a start-up option to focus on the development of their business plan.

For many world-leading companies Constructor University [former: Jacobs University] is the first choice university in Germany for recruitment.
