Forging the next generation of digital leaders
The Master in Computer Science and Software Engineering allows you to graduate with the skills needed to drive innovation in industry, academia, or through your own startup. Through interdisciplinary learning and the development of strong skills in various functional areas, the knowledge gained throughout the master’s program will not only guide you to the career of your choice but will allow you to stand out as an exceptional candidate.
With scientifically up-to-date course content, the skills and knowledge required by the industry needs of today and tomorrow are expertly met. CSSE students profit from unique opportunities such as summer internships, employment through our network, research project participation, as well as opportunities to access the EU and Swiss job markets.
Use the writing of a master thesis to further enhance your career prospects or diversify into a different functional area.

Graduates of MSc CSSE from SIT and Constructor University follow a variety of professional and academic career paths all over the world. Their high academic, intercultural, and personal skills will prepare them to enter the most demanding positions in global, Swiss, or German engineering industries or advanced science institutes.
To account for the diversity in the student body and their tendency to work in Germany, Switzerland, or the EU, we convey country-specific information to best prepare them for the national as well as the international job market.
Our alumni are working in fields such as data management and IT sciences, consulting, higher education, research, finance, engineering, logistics, and health. Some students have made a leap into entrepreneurship and launched their own businesses. Start-ups founded by Constructor University alumni are active on the market worldwide. Many students also choose to pursue further research careers at some of the world’s most prestigious universities.
The Capstone project allows students to apply the knowledge and expertise in technical, management and leadership skills gained throughout the master`s program in a “real-world” project that runs over the course of 3-semesters.
The course teaches students how to effectively design reliable systems that meet the needs of producers and customers, by developing solutions to problems agreed with industry partners and SIT laboratories that act as clients. Working closely with instructors and assistants, students will be mentored and work in a modern environment supported by open-source IDEs and engineering tools.
“The quality of the students enrolled in the Capstone project surprised me: they are simply fantastic! I enjoy adding context to the course by sharing my experience in academia and in industry. I think this will help them in the future.“
Prof. Manuel Oriol
Capstone Project Instructor

At SIT and Constructor University we believe that in order to prepare the next generation of leaders in science, students need to learn not only from renowned scientists but also from leaders in business. Traditional technical education does not fully prepare students for a technical career. Our network of industry partners has experienced this first-hand. To this end, SIT and Constructor Universitys University provide access points to several large software and IT organizations headquartered in Schaffhausen, providing a one-of-a-kind relationship with industry.
Today’s business world requires disciplinary knowledge from graduates as well as the ability to apply this knowledge. Career-related services at Constructor University provide information, counseling and training, networks, and events. Constructor University’s students participate in trainings on project management, business communication, job interview skills, and more. Digital job and internship portfolios help students to prepare for their career.
